The Courage
To Believe

Sometimes its nice to be at the front of the pack on our Lenten walks. You have an unobstructed view of the path ahead. Of course, you hold everyone up when you stop to take a picture, but I thought it was definitely worth it.
Many people continue to ask me
if I enjoy living in Red Deer. Besides loving the Sunnybrook family, the next thing I usually say has something to do with these beautiful trails just minutes from wherever you are in Red Deer.

You have heard me say that if we are to heal our planet, we have to fall in love with the great outdoors once again. Thats pretty easy to do here. All we have to do is step outside.

Our gospel reading for this week prompted me to ask our study groups, If you open your eyes to the community around you, what do you see what is your unobstructed view? I see great diversity all around us. We are many people from many places. We are all ages and stages living in community. There is diversity in the plants and the animals. As a faith community exploring ways to connect with the broader community around us, lets ponder all that we see and find there
the sacred common ground we all share.

The story of Jesus healing the man born blind is not only about seeing for the first time, it is also about having the courage to believe in something you cant see, but know to be true. I invite you to take some time outside, when you arent thinking about other things, and consider what your unobstructed view reveals.

Peace and joy,
Nancy
