Gratitude

I recently attended a meeting at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre, and upon arriving I was greeted by this rather festive moose! You can’t help but smile when you see such a friendly sight. On my way to Pigeon Lake last Friday to facilitate a retreat, I had a close encounter with a real, live moose, and I have to say, I’m very grateful I could admire it from a distance. I was definitely in awe of his size and surprising gracefulness, as he leapt with ease overthe fence on the other side of the road.
There were no other cars around so I could pause for a moment to take in what I just experienced.

We live in an amazing part of the world, and itis good to be reminded of the diversity and beauty of our surroundings. With so much happening in the world around us, it is easy to become anxious about our current situation on so many levels. We tend to forget the benefits of taking a pause in our day for gratitude. When we do, we shift our focus from scarcity toward abundance. It really can change how we see the world.

Whether you pause for a moose crossing, or pause before a Thanksgiving meal, I hope you are able to seize those moments
of gratitude to give thanks for where we live and the people we love.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Peace and joy,
Nancy
