Who Do You Say
That I Am?

We are so fortunate to have such
beautiful, natural sanctuary spaces right in the middle of Red Deer. There are many intriguing pathways that seem to invite us in along with our inquiring minds and thoughtful questions. Who am I and where do I fit in the grand scheme of things?

Our summer theme of sanctuary through the lens of awe and wonder is the perfect pairing with a walk through the trees. Summer is not quite over yet, so Im going to make the most of each warm day as it comes.

This weeks gospel text brings together theology and spirituality in a way that helps us continue our exploration down the
path of awe and wonder. We get to wrestle with identity, authority, church, and divine revelation, all in response to Jesus question to Peter, Who do you say that I am? In a moment of awe and understanding, Peter replies, You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. And just with that, Peter becomes the rock upon which the church is built.

I wonder how you might answer Jesus question about identity. Where do you find moments of divine revelation and how does that inform what you do next? Our schedules are beginning to fill up again as we inch our way closer to September. Lets try tohang on to what we have learned from the awe-inspired sanctuary moments of this summer.
Peace and joy,
