If you have recently lost someone close to you, we offer you our condolences.

If you are considering holding the funeral at Sunnybrook United Church,

the following guidelines may help you with your decision.

Funeral Guidelines

1. The family will meet with the minister to discuss and plan the funeral service. This will help the minister to discover the life story of the deceased person and will bring awareness of any pastoral care that may be needed for any family member(s).

2. The selection of music for the funeral service must be made in consultation with the church organist/pianist and minister. Sunnybrook United Church provides an organist/pianist and any changes or variations must be negotiated with this person. Use of any taped or recorded music must be approved by the organist/pianist and minister.

3. The present minister(s) of the Sunnybrook congregation performs the funeral service. From time to time, at the family's request, these duties may be shared with the minister of another denomination. This is to be discussed with the Sunnybrook United Church minister who is performing the service in order to meet the needs of all.

4. The total fee is $625. This fee includes honorariums to the resident minister and organist/pianist, clean up, church use and administration. If it places an undue burden on the family to pay for the funeral services, charges may be reduced or rescinded.
